Incredible Roasted Shoulder of Lamb with Smashed Veg and Greens.

(Potatoes, Carrots, Turnips, Chard, Garlic & Rosemary.)

“First of all we went to our supermarket to find lamb but we couldn’t find any so daddy went somewhere else and we finally got some…so today we got up at 10 o’clock and we put the garlic on the bottom of the pan…and then we put salt & pepper on the lamb and rubbed it in with the olive oil…oh yeah and rosemary and wrapped it in silver foil…then we put it in the oven on…What was it Daddy?…oh yeah, 210 for three hours…hours later we are back at home and we had a bit of pressure because we had to go to a Geronimo musical and then we had to make the greens and veggie…oh yeah and make the sauce…it was easy…you put it in a pan cover it with flour and water…then you put it on to boil until it’s bubbling and then we had to make vegetables…put them in a pan and boil until they are soft but they were still really really hard…the greens you just put them in a bowl. I gave it an 8/10. It was really good the way the meat fell apart. Thank you for listening.” Said MS.

I started this blog to record the meals I make for my son. One of the many great memories I have of my childhood is the food I ate. The smell of boiling cauliflower on a Sunday morning that steamed up the windows, Lamb sandwiches for tea in front of the tele, cubes of raw jelly at nan’s house and of course mum’s homemade pizza (made with a short crust base) I hope my food creates good memories for my son but if nothing else this blog might jog his memory when he’s older! Enjoy.

    Yet another wonderful dinner. The lamb was sooo tasty with the rosemary and so soft and I loved the greens. Well done to both of you for cooking such a special meal.
