Pan Fried Prawn with Pernod.

Sunday 17th April 2011

We are on holiday in France so posts will be short and sporadic, depending on wifi connections, over the next 10 days. The key is under the flower pot nearest the front door, if you were wondering. 😉

One of the better things I taught Zeph to do is how to suck the head of a prawn. The rich garlicky taste that gathers in the head of a prawn which I guess must be part of the brain, is a delicious preceder for what’s to come.

“How you getting on there Z?…”

He seemed to be making a face after sucking his fifth head in a row.

“…Did you get a bad one…?” I enquired.

“…Yeah, they’re a bit like almonds aren’t they. You can eat a load of almonds and then all of a sudden you get a bitter one.” I continued.

“I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad head.” interjected mum.

“You get bad heads mummy” Said Zeph with a cheeky smile on his face. 😉

About whatdidyouhavefordinnerlastnight

I started this blog to record the meals I make for my son. One of the many great memories I have of my childhood is the food I ate. The smell of boiling cauliflower on a Sunday morning that steamed up the windows, Lamb sandwiches for tea in front of the tele, cubes of raw jelly at nan’s house and of course mum’s homemade pizza (made with a short crust base) I hope my food creates good memories for my son but if nothing else this blog might jog his memory when he’s older! Enjoy.
