Classic Stuffed Cabbage Rolls.

Yet another inspiring meal from Edible Tapestry.

Thanks. πŸ™‚

Everything I cook takes an hour. Whether it be a lasagne or cheese on toast it seems to take me 60 minutes to get it from the fridge to the plate. I don’t know if my shepherd pie is cooked in record speed or if a good salad should be done slowly. Either way it frustrates me.

This dish should have been relatively easy. All it is is raw mince, cooked rice, some dried herbs & some blanched cabbage leaves. I didn’t encounter any particular problems during the process & still it took me the prerequisite 1 hour to put together, & that was with the rice already cooked.

If I’m honest, I’m lucky that I can spend an hour doing something I enjoy. There are plenty of other tasks that take as long which aren’t what I would choice to do given half the chance.

Zephy sauntered to the table in just a pair of pants. He prefers to not dress for dinner in the summer months.

“What’s that?” He asked.

“Stuffed cabbage leaves,” I told him. “What do you think?”

He sat down & cut off a piece of the roll. In fact we all did so at the same time.

“Wow wee!,” I said. “That…is…amazing.”

“That’s lovely Jon.” Said my wife with a look of surprise on her face. “What D’you think Zeph?”

“Yeah, I can’t get them on my fork.” He replied struggling with a piece of cabbage.

“Now there’s a quote, if ever I’ve heard one.” I said ploughing in. πŸ˜‰
